Just rename your friend's skin to steve (no caps ) and move it to that folder. You can replace it with your friend's skin. If you do, click on it and then go to assets>minecraft>textures>entity and a steve.PNG file should be in there. The changes to his face, particularly his nose, triggered widespread.
